The Moving Mind Symposium at Pomona College created a forum for interdisciplinary dialogue between artists and scientists. At this 3 day symposium, experiential workshops and participatory lecture-demonstrations provided an arena where those interested in the cognitive or neurosciences might explore ideas through embodied movement; performing or visual artists might find insight into the creative process through the lens of research science; and scholars in the humanities and social sciences might consider the myriad of issues around the human body. Presenters at the Moving Mind included renowned Neuroscientist Dr. V.S. Ramachandran, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, whose School for Body-Mind Centering™ has profoundly influenced current fields of Movement Education and Body Therapies, Neuroscience and Dance Researcher Dr. Emily Cross, Visual Artist David Michalek and Alexander Teacher Meg Jolley
